Meet the doctors of Gentle Dentist
It’s been a quick 35 years of practice, but I’m just getting started! My passion is to make visiting the dentist fun while offering the best dentistry available. I love creating new smiles for my patients. I’ve been very fortunate to work with dedicated people. I’ve also been blessed with wonderful patients, many of whom are very dear friends.
I’ve been blessed with a wonderful wife, Janice, and two great sons: Kosta, 14 and Angelo, 12. We love boating and wave running together. Aside from family time, I love golfing, tennis, traveling & working out. I look forward to seeing and working with you.
I have been a part of the Gentle Dentist Smile-Spa Team since 2002. It has been a pleasure working with great professionals, and being associated with such a fine dentist like Dr. Tolias.
On a personal level, I have been married to my wife Joan since 1959. We enjoy traveling, especially Florida and golfing whenever possible. I also enjoy woodworking. We have five grown children, four boys and one girl. Four of them are married and one is still in college. We have been blessed with sixteen grandchildren over the years. I look forward to seeing you & your family!
After graduation, I was an officer in the U.S. Army Dental Corps in Heidelberg, Germany. There I met and married my wife, Linda. After completion of my military service, I continued my dental education at University of Washington in Seattle. I received my Master’s Degree in Orthodontics.
I’m happy to be a part of Creative Smiles Orthodontics, which is located within the Gentle Dentist – Smile Spa practice.
I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children, Andrea and Matthew, and my two grandsons. I look forward to being a part of creating great smiles for our patients!
I completed my undergraduate education at the University of Michigan and earned my dental degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. At University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), I completed the orthodontic residency program.
I’ve been fortunate to receive honors for my scholastic achievements and multiple awards for research in orthodontics. I am dedicated to education and passionate about providing my patients the best orthodontic care possible.
Following graduation, I successfully completed a specialized examination process to become a board-certified orthodontist. I am now a diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontics in addition to being a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, American Dental Association, and Michigan Dental Association.
I enjoy spending my free time with family and friends. My husband Nick and I are active volunteers for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and avid sports enthusiasts. We especially enjoy cheering on the Detroit Lions, the Detroit Red Wings, and the University of Michigan football team!
I moved to NYC in 1975 and developed a cosmetic / reconstructive practice in Lincoln Center. I was one of the first dentists in the country to use bonded porcelain laminate veneers. While in NYC, I held a position as attending staff at St. Lukes/ Roosevelt Hospital for many years, mainly with teaching responsibilities.
I returned to Michigan in 2000 and returned to teaching dentistry at UDM. I re-entered private practice about 3 years ago “to practice what I preach”. At home, I am the proud owner of 2 dogs, several gardens and have an endless stream of projects that keep me busy. In my off-hours I enjoy reading, fishing and classical music.
